What is a trailer?

Camera movement

                                                                                                                                   Tilt
                  Pan

The camera moves from side to side.                                             The camera moves up and down

Crane

The camera moves up and down in a crane
It is often used by composers of films to signify the end of a film or scene.

Track

The camera follows a person or subject.
This camera movement is also called 'dolly' .

Camera angles

  • High angle
It is a camera angle that looks down upon a subject.
A character shot with a high angle will look vulnerable or small.
These angles are often used to demonstrate to the audience a perspective of a particular character. This demonstrates to us the perspective or point of view of a dog.
As a viewer we can understand that the dog feels sad.

  • Low angle

It is a camera angle that looks up at a character. This is the opposite of a high angle and makes a character look more powerful. This can make the audience feel vulnerable and small by looking up at the character. This can help the responder feel empathy if they are viewing the frame from another character's point of view.

  • Canted angle

A camera angle which is deliberately slanted to one side,
sometimes used for dramatic effect to help portray unease,
disorientation, frantic or desperate action.

Camera shots

A camera shot is the amount of space that is seen in one shot or frame.camera shots are used to demonstrate different aspects of a film's setting, characters and themes.

Some examples:

  • Establishing shot
An establishing shot is usually the first shot of anew scene,
designed to show the audience where the actions is taking place.
It is usually a very wide shot or extreme wide shot.

  • Close-up

Showing someone from the shoulders up.
This enables viewers to understand the actor's emotions and             allows them to feel empathy for the character.
This is also known as a personal shot.

  • Long shot

showing someone from head to toe.
A long shot may show the viewers the building where the action will take place.

  • Two shot

Is when two characters are filmed in a single shot, normally filmed mid-chest up;this shot can create harmony or disharmony.
These use of this shot is to show a conversation ,conflict , attraction the list is endless.
An example of a two shot is in 'ted' represents a conversation between the two protagonist.

  • Over the shoulder shot

Or OTS occurs where the camera is placed behind the shoulder of the character, and can either show the opposite person on and object.normally the should of the person is in soft and the subject is in sharp.

  • Aerial shot

An exterior shot taken from a plane, crane, helicopter or any other very high position (air).

  • Point of view show

This shot shows a view from the subject's perspective.

My decision

After some discussion with my group we have decided to make a romantic and dramatic trailer.
It has not been a very difficult task because last year we had to do a fiction movie so today we have some ideas about other type of genre.
This type of genre is usually quieter than others and even more if you mix it with drama and that is one of the reasons why we choose it. But this does not mean that we don't like other types of genres

My teacher

This is my media studies teacher.
I have been his student since I started with this subject.
From the first time that he taught us I knew that he was going to be a great teacher and also that he was going to make us learn a lot of different things about other topics.
Last year we changed the subject that he was teaching us in secondary and we started with the one which we are continuing right now, media studies.
I know that he is an excellent teacher because last year he did really well with us and he helped us a lot with the theory and also with the As blog like he is doing now with the A-level portfolio.
Well I have a lot of things to thanks him for, eg, for being so patient and motivating us each day more. Giving us his vote of confidence and saying that we all can because we are very clever and we are prepared.
I think that I am not the only one that thinks like me or similar.
The idea of including our teacher in my blog was not something that he told us to do, it is something that my friend and I decided to give him a surprise due to the all effort that he is making with us during this course and the other years.

MY TEAM

We are three members in my team. I know them because we have been studying together for a long time.
Our relationship is not just professional, I used to hang out with them outside school.
We love to always be together and confronting any problem as a team.

This year we will used the same method that we used last year.
The different tasks were assigned to each member according to their abilities. (ones were better in organisation, others in communication...etc)
This wasn't so hard as we were coordinated and organised with every decision.
As each of us was good in something, the overall result was better because we joined all our qualities and ideas to complete the work.
This is something that not everyone can say because not always are you faced with such a team.
From last year I learnt more about the advantages and disadvantages of doing a project alone or with more people.
I realized other points of views different to my perspectives.
Greater efficacy, efficiency, security and confidence at work.
But also some lack of cooperation and instability of ideas.
But never egoism or disloyalty from any member.

I think my group and I are going to do a great job this year because we all are pretty motivated with this subject and we will have all well organized.
