Problems filming

We faced a serie of problems the weekend that we were going film because it started raining.
The weather in general did not wanted to accompany us. When it did not rain it was cloudy and all wet or very cold.

We thought it would be a good idea to take advantage and record as if it were really raining in the trailer. But everything was complicated because we had a small problem with one of the objectives of the camera that got a bit wet and we had to change it.

Also have to say that the scenes that we planned to record the weekend that rain was not easy and required patience in addition to good weather since it was in a boat that was on a pontoon.

This is my preliminary task.

Hope that you can notice the big difference between this draft and the first trailer.

Meeting for filming

Today we had a meeting all the members of the group to decide when are we going to film.
At the beggining we found some problems like:

• Leti is from a different city, so it was all more complicated 
• That we can all the members of the group on the same day
• Talk with the outside characters to ask them if they are free to make us the favour of appearing in our trailer

At the end I offered Leti to stay in my house all the days that we are going to film.

From my point of view, I think that the problems that we need to face are not very big problems. 

Putting some effort and a bit of us each, we can do what we want and like we want.

Hospital! Lucky us!

We wanted to film at the hospital but we did not know how to go there. Suddenly, one of the member of the team got sick and we took advantage of this opportunity to film at the hospital.
Everything happened too fast so we did not have enough time to carry the material.
I recorded some video with the phone but at the end we did not used it for being an scene in the trailer.
We were in the hospital for about three hours and I had to stay with the patient taking care of her almost the three hours, because I was her only company.
Here you can see one of the videos that I did with my phone.

I took this day to ask if it was possible to come another day and record the hospital inside and an ambulance arriving.

Thanks to this day, when I went later to record the hospital I found it easier to ask and to film.

Lighting

Today in this post about lighting I will define the term, mention some of the different types and finally in reference to my trailer.

The key light is one of the most important lights that cameraman uses. Its main function is to highlight the main objects.

Usually, in the back lighting the light is placed behind the subject to illuminate it, creating a silhouette effect, or to create separation of the subject and background, or to create depth between characters of objects.

The most common ones are high and low key lighting.

High key lighting reduces the amount of contrast because of such strong lighting, over-lights the subject to reduce contrast and feels airy and light.

A low key lighting always have dark tones and colours. It used to transmit drama and mystery.

Black and white are very common combination of colours on pictures with scarcity of light.

My group and I will make a romantic/drama trailer so we will consider both types of lighting through the process of filming. But it is true that because of the genre and the argument of the trailer,  high key lighting will appear more rather than low key lighting.
